In the age of artificial intelligence and the growing entropy of the academic system, humanities research faces a crucial question: is it losing direction, meaning, and responsibility? Using musicology as an emblematic case, this volume examines the vulnerabilities of the Digital Humanities and the pressures of the "publish or perish" culture. It proposes a paradigm shift based on intellectual depth rather than quantitative output, interdisciplinary dialogue rather than disciplinary isolation, and long-term cultural impact rather than immediate results. Open Access Edition Please note: the book is currently available only in Italian. In the age of artificial intelligence, however, this is no longer an insurmountable obstacle: today's translation tools can help readers engage with the text across languages with increasing ease.
